Les Choses de la vie (1970)

This evening I escaped the New Vague City with Claude Sautet’s Les choses de la vie; starring Michel Piccoli, Romy Schneider and the gorgeous Lea Massari who stole my heart ages ago in Le souffle au coeur by Louis Malle. She was also in L’avventura as the missing girl. The film is about the abstraction of disparate things that preoccupy us, including people, [...]

Brisk Break Bobbing

Idle train tracks somewhere on Potomac River; a fleeting scene from a much needed break from the city. Recharging me batteries for the big act launching at the end of the month.

In Honour of Ira Cohen

To fear death is to miss the point of life entirely. As the news of my friend Ira Cohen’s departure seeps through my pores, I know that magic is not inside us, but, it’s between us. The waves of his existence was so tremendous that generations later his life will still find meaning and substance [...]
