2nd day of shooting the music video Neon (new single from Ash) with the long term KiNo collaborator Jennifer Armstrong – lower east side, Nyc.

Making a Music Video for Ash

The first music video I have ever been commissioned for is in the making for these lads, Ash – from Northern Ireland who sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Coincidentally, their new single Neon is the 9th in the series of A-Z featuring 26 singles for each letter in the alphabet. Atom Heart Studio, NY: across the street from Ears.

An Absolute Favourite

Seafood Bibimbop at my favourite restaurant in Korean Town, 32nd street.

The Present

This book came in as a present from dear Jocelyn on the occasion of my birthday, reminding me that I am a poet in New York. Acknowledgement to friends who took me out and spun my head, thanks to Alan, Ayca, Jen & Hen and Joce for a memorable twist and shout.

Night of Joy

It was the first party to take place at the new bar created by Jen  & Hen,  Night of Joy – opening soon in Brooklyn.

A detail from the ceiling of Night of Joy.

My dears friends, Jennifer Armstrong & Henrietta Paris at the Night of Joy.

Hogging with Space

Spacehog kicking it at Webster Hall, New York.

Lovely to see a real band playing, tight as a duck’s arse.

Vice Interview Shoot

The word is getting out. Jeff Blenkinsopp, Alan McSeveney & KiNo at Ears answering to questions about the Tower of Power, all custom analogue processor for the upcoming KiNo Live,  New York.

Eric Rohmer! Eric Rohmer! Eric Rohmer!

Cinema lost one more of its children today. Eric Rohmer (1920-2010). Thank you for the edification and the big wave.

Albert Maysles

‘The best American cameraman’ as father Godard once spoke of him. Albert Maysles, along with his brother David made documentary films classified under Direct Cinema; a school of filmmaking that bears similar traits my school, Cinema Verité, which means Kino-Pravda (Film Truth) in French. The concept was pioneered by Dziga Vertov in the 1920s. Patti Smith’s exhibition at Robert Miller Gallery, New York.

Patti Smith Exhibits

Patti Smith and the geezer who shot a documentary film on her, entitled Dream of Life (quite an inspiring look at the woman with many marvels), held an opening at a gallery in the fart district, New York.

And she was there: Patti Smith with that twat from a fine armpit band, I was forced to be made aware of when I was a nipper, with an incredibly crap song about losing religion.
